Studio Jörg Mennickheim

Studio Jörg Mennickheim works in the field of product and interior design. The Cologne-based design studio develops corporate interiors, furniture and products for brands and institutions. Clients are global players but also small labels. The studio's approach combines a progressive conceptual approach with a passion for materials, new technologies and craftsmanship. Formal simplicity and intelligent details characterize the projects. Jörg Mennickheim thinks and works in an interdisciplinary way. His studio cooperates with a grown network of digital experts, engineers, craftsmen and universities. Jörg Mennickheim was born in Kassel and grew up there in a traditional family of master carpenters. After training as a carpenter, he studied at the Cologne International School of Design (KISD) and at ENSCI Les Ateliers in Paris. In 2002, Jörg worked for Ronan+Erwan Bouroullec in Paris. Since 2010 he is responsible for the art direction of the product label UTENSIL.Furthermore Jörg leads design workshops for the Vitra Design Museum, Istanbul Design Biennale, Biennale Interieur and other institutions. Since 2015 he teaches at the Peter Behrens School of Arts (PBSA) in Düsseldorf.
